Never sacrifice on tires.. no matter what rims or mods you have.

lol fyi with a moderate drop 17x8.5 with a 30 offset will probably rub, especially if your putting 245s on it.

id throw 225s on it and slam the sht!

The point in getting 8.5" wide rims is to put fatter tires on there. If you're getting 225 width tires, stick with 17x7.. or the 17x8.

for some, the point of getting 8.5 is to get a flusher stance. if you get them just for track use to put down more rubber, i would suggest going higher offset so you won't have to stop after each corner to pick up missing fender pieces. i know if i got 8.5" +30, i'd be putting 225s on there and running at least like -2 camber.
i did 17x7 and x8 with 225s. nuh uh. i'm going 215s next time around.

and ace i would go with the 17x8.5 et 30, slightly more agressive and can still fit good tires on it.
im concerned of rubbing my fenders, 40 et would still be a lil flushed right since i will be running fat tires at least 235? Right now i have 18x8 et 35 on 225tires and it rubs at times (rarely) when I encounter some dips..

225 on the 8.5 rims will be fine.......just a slight stretch on it and that is it,should not have any handling issues from it with a 40 offset.

if your concerned you could always grab the Seibon 10mm Wider CF fenders, get teh 17x8.5 with a 30 offset and run 245s or even 255s with some serious rubber, have a sick stance and fat tires for great traction. that way the fronts would be mint and the rears would be too

depending on tire, 225 on 8.5 won't even be a stretch. bstone re01s or even rt615 azenis run a bit wider.

Yea they're offering it in 17x8.5 +30 in black, I think? Definitely awesome for the price, but if you're going to get 'em get them now because they're limited editions..

I would go 245/40 because it's the best ratio - closest to stock diameter.

with a +40 offset you shouldn't have too much of a rubbing issue.

nah 40+ is safest, i drive my car daily and hard at times.. and i dont want to have problems when im on the track.. scraping fender liner one race track is a major embarrassment! lmao.. though 30+ for sure looks great

I totally agree with B_Real. On the 17x8.5 version of the wheel, 245/40 at +40 is pretty much the perfect wheel and tire size combo for us. Depending on how much lower you are from stock you shouldn't rub except in some pretty specific situations. Nothing a VERY minor fender roll wouldn't cure immediately.

+40 might not provide the visual stance that most people love, but it's a meaty tire with a great contact patch and a lightweight wheel that shouldn't cause any major headaches with fitment. Ultimate choice for people who track their cars and that goes double for those that track them with a turbo or other power boosters.

Dezod's custom run has both +35 and +40's but you'll have to talk to them to figure out how many they have left of each offset.
