Default Got these wheels..

ok.. so my dad owns a towing company and when cars are not picked up after a prolonged perios of time we get the vehicle and all of its contents.. any way i got a set of Katana kr-5.. just wondering what you guys think of these rims.. i have to check and see if they fit on my girls tc.. just a couple of questions

1. The size tire on the Katana's is like 205/40 i think.. the website says the recommened tire is 215 or something.. Can i use the stock tires on the aftermarket rims??

if the rim is big enough, but 205/40 is smaller and narrower than what reguler tc's run. i think the tc spec runs 205/55/16.

so no, the stock tires would probably not fit well, so i suggest selling them and buying something for your girl with that money.

btw, we have been discussing wheels all night it seems. just remember that heavier wheels make cars slower, take longer to brake, and decrease mpg and reduce handling responsivness.

i don't know what these wheels look like or how much they weigh, but you might end up making your gf considerably worse off, so weight them against the stock tires and see if there is a considerable amount of difference.

if the katana's are 17s, then most likely (99%) the stock tires will fit them. it would be preferable to use 215s as opposed to 205s. Wider is better (unless you rub).

but just because they are the same diameter as stock, doesn't mean they will fit the car. I'm going to assume that they are probably 7" wide, which would be the same as stock, so u should be fine there.

however, i'm not sure about the offset, or more importantly, the bolt pattern. TC's lug pattern is 5x100. so unless the wheels are 5x100 or 5 lug universal, they will not fit. even if they are, they must have the correct offset so as not to rub anywhere.

hope this helps.
