Default i finally did it

i finally ordered my rims. 19" motegi ff7 gunmetal. i was gunna do 18s but dam the 19s look soooo good. ill be gettin tires soon to put on those rims. Im thinking of sticking with the stock tire width since the rim is only .5" wider than stock and i like a lil stretch. give me any opinions on tires. Im looking to spend like 150 each. thanks cant wait to get them on

I just hope the roads around you don't suck... 19s + potholes = flatspots. Yuck.

Tires... you want all-seasons or summer?

Well, I just bought a set of BFG gForce TA KDW 2. Came to just under $540 shipped from TireRack (stock size though). They have great reviews and are supposed to have awesome wet and dry traction for summer.

You'll get some other suggestions too though. Just do a little research.

Since you're getting 19s... you might have to up your $150/tire limit. Larger wheels = more expensive tires.

if you like a little stretch look to them possibly the 225/35/19's www.discounttire.com has a set of dunlops for $143.00 a tire which are a good tire or the Falken Azenis for the same price. Discount tire is a great company to purchase tires from and have awesome warrenties. I have purchased all my tires from them and recommend them to anyone looking for new tires. One thing I do want to say on my other car im running 215/35's and my rim is more exposed and I dont recommend that. My tC has 235/35/19's which I think is a perfect fit. So for you possibly the 225's

I have Kumho ecsta 712's. I reccomend them for the price. But not for performance. I am really not happy with them after adding more power to the car. They are cheaper for a reason, but they will last longer than stickier tires so I guess they do have their pluses.

If you do go with spacers, get at least 10mm ones. I have 35mm offset on my tC and it looks great. Do what Reese said and get your tires at discounttire. That's where I purchased my rims & tires and they threw in the hubcentric rings for free. It looks as if you're going to have to raise your limit for tires. At least to $175 per tire.

those dunlops are nice.......we put a set on an evo, they are very very sticky and have very little road noise.
discount tire is the shiit........free shipping!

I would go 225/35-19 the tires will run you about 160 per tire.

You can see the rim sticks out from the tire...

ALSO
This happened to me last year when I hit a pothole on I-10, I believe it would not have happened if I had a different tire that protected it more.

Best of luck deciding though, I hope this helped out some.

no problem at all, I think the Dunlops have a sweet looking tread pattern and will be a really good tire for you IF you go that route.

well im still waiting on the rims, but i think ive decided on the tires.
im looking at either the
falken avenis st-115
http://www.falkentire.com/tires_st115.htm
or the falken fk-451
http://www.falkentire.com/tires_451.htm
or the bf goodrich g-force KDW-2
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....e1=yes&place=9

i want a quiet ride but still good performance
if you have any of these tires please give me a review of what you like and dont like.

also reese do you think a 215 on a 7.5" wide tire will really stretch the tire that much because is only a .5" difference than stock?
thanks

I've heard that KDW2 can be not very quiet on highway sometimes. But most people have said that you don't notice after a while. I still plan on using mine since the performance is supposed to be awesome. But I don't know about the others.

What do you xpect from a performance tire....I am sick and tired of kids complaining of interior noise when they get perfomance tires...fyi...the noise comes with the performace

Softer tire density = more noise
And if you are really into performane intake + xzust = nosie...why not _____ about that...

Get over-urself people
