Default Just had my wheels rotated, feel bumps.

I had my wheels rotated 2 weeks ago, for the first time.
When i drive my car i feel bumps on the road. Is this normal?
The bumps speed up when i go faster, so it must be something in the tires, but the tires look ok to me.

And also, there seems to be cuts on my tires. Could the dealership have done this? (ill upload pictures later) They look like cuts that could only be made by something sharp or metal.

have you checked the air pressures in the tires? they are different between front and rear. rotating them would cause them to be different now if no one changed it.

cuts? yes please upload some pics on that, could be a lot of things

Dude. I think your car hit a curb...hard. You'll notice the tear on the tires and the gashes on the rims, both on the same location (driver's side) . Do you remember if you did?

My suspicion if you didn't hit a curb is you might've gotten it at the dealership. My guess is at their carlift. Somehow during the process they hit your wheels hard. How to prove it now? Not sure.

As for the bumpy travel, the alignment could've gotten off/misaligned. Visually your tire pressure seems to be ok. But check it anyways, and the alignment.

Just got back from the dealership. He said it was a curb rash, i dont remember anything happening like that. I have only had one curb rash and that was on the other side.
I know this happened at the dealership, there is no way i can prov it. ____kkk!!

And for the bumps, he said the tires were rubbed at a certain spot. Both front tires were scraped (previously back tires). I remember me and a buddy were going to school and in the middle of the road he pulled the E-brake. That must have caused this. DAMNIT I HATE THAT BASTARD! Im gonna kick is ___ now.
Then the dealership guy was like it looks like you need a anlinement too.
Damn this is gonna cost me around $400.

Typical (dealership excuse). I gave up going there for minor DIY stuff after they gashed my rims too during the "complimentary" tire rotation.

Have your car re-aligned somewhere else...cheaper. Just go to another reputable alignment shop. While you're at it, have them inspect the tire threads too to confirm any bumps/abnormalities, esp. get an opinion on those tears if their safe and fixable.

(Oh, this is just me, but I always keep an eye and observe my car/s in shops whenever possible. It's better they know you're watching--just act curious. lol )

the dealer will just give you excuses.. you do have to get those tires that are cut, REPLACED and SOON! unless you'd like a blowout.

It does look like they hit something hard, but the coloring of the aluminum (after the paint is scratched off) shows it's discolored, so that didn't just happen recently, it's been there for some time. I'm not defending the dealer, just looking at the evidence. The cuts though look recent, but good luck proving they did it.

The "bumpy ride" is because your most-intelligent (sarcasm) friend pulled the e-brake and caused what's known as a flat spot on your tire, making it not round anymore.

bottom line.. get that tire replaced that's cut!

Interesting, Thanks guys.
So i guess i have to get a hole set of tires.
What would be good for a everyday driver, all season?
I don't race/drift any of that stuff.

well some of us like the toyo proxes4, but others dont. why? well for those of us who don't drive aggressively and rotate them every 3500 miles, they're lasting about 20-25,000 miles.

others like the goodyear f1 all-season, but they're not cheap (when is goodyear cheaply priced anyway?!?)

there is the bfg g-sport a/s, i forget the whole name, it's a new all-season, ultra high performance tire (which is our size tire).

if you're on a budget, the nitto neo gen is good as well, about $90 a tire. Toyo makes Nitto tires as well, so the tread compound is very similar to the proxes4, just a different tread design.

hope that helps.
