im really surprised NO ONE here is looking at atech wheels aka mb motorsports. look up these rim name.. final speed, weapon, eraser etc etc.. the 2 main rims they produce.. both under 17lbs and look nice.

im personally saving up for some bronze weapon 17x7 48 offset. should look hot on my SW

oh and they pricing is reletively cheap!

Well, I think I can pretty much cross off the whole "Price No Object" list. Price is definitely an object.

OK, going down the "Value Priced" list
Axis Mag Lites - 17 X 7 - 15.6 lbs. $200 each - 4 spoke pattern only, won't work on the tc. discontinued too. Probably can find some in a warehouse or otherwise used.

Axis Reverb - 17 X 7 - 18 lbs. about $225 per wheel - nice pattern to the wheel. I really like the spokes on this one. Only wish it came in silver.

Kosei K-1 Racing - Hmmm. Tirerack won't put these with the tc for some reason? Wrong bolt pattern maybe?

Almost all Rotas- ok.... er, Why I don't I leave the summary of that for someone else.

Enkei RPF1 - 17 X 7.5 - 15.3 lbs - $265 per wheel - Looks light as hell. I would personnaly go for 5 solid spokes though.

Enkei NTO3-M - 17 X 7.5 - 17.4 lbs $295 per wheel - OUCH! I think I must just be too cheap for this hobby.

Enkei RPO-3 - 17 X 7 - 16.8 lbs $300 per wheel - *SIGH* yeah....

Enkei RSM - ???? $300 pre wheel

Gram Lights 57 C 17 X 7.5 18 lbs $ 255 per wheel

Team Dynamics ProComp I 17 X 7 19.2 lbs

etli,
more spokes, when all else is considered like manf technique, alloy quality, etc. results in a stronger wheel than just 4 or 5 spokes, of the same size wheel.

The RPF1 is an exceptionally tough wheel for the price, I know from some very serious personal experience;)

I hear ya and agree, we're both looking for the best bang for the buck. At least I think I finally found the answer to that question!

The tire rack has the Kazera KZ-V listed as a direct fit for the tC. They're silver w/ polished lip, 17x7, 40mm offset (will help to fill the wheelwells a bit, without going to far for the bearings), weigh only 17.0 pounds and they're just $129 each!

Here's the link, select your car to see the weight displayed (it's wheel number 44 of 76 for the tC).

Not sure how much I like them, look somewhat like the stock tC wheels, but don't think we'll find lighter weight at a better price.

Yeah, I think it looks too close to stock but the weight and cost is pretty good. Anyone have any experience with these? Do they bend that easy?

I don't like the multi-spoke wheels because then I have to clean between each spoke. Which is annoying if you've just spent 3 hours cleanring, polishing, and waxing the rest of your car.
But I understand what that other guy was saying about more spokes making a stronger wheel. It's just basic physics.

Damn you, Engineering background!

Here's a picture of the Kosei K1-TS

They cost 275, though I've seen them discounted several times on tirerack. They are 18x7.5 and only weigh 16 lbs. Furthermore, they look similar to the stock rims (though the Kazeras are better in that aspect, but weigh more for the 18s), so if you don't want to advertise, this is the way to go.

The price isn't bad on them (usually around $200 a wheel in 17), but they weigh about 21lbs each, as a fellow tC owner discovered. Far from lightweight, and heavier than stock, actually.

I'll stick with my 17x8 ATech Finalspeed Erasers. 17.5lbs each. Which doesn't mean much, considering that the 245/40 rubber on it weighs 23lbs.

i hate to ask such an ignorant question, but how are the 18" upgrade wheels from scion. i believe they're made by enkei as well, since the RS1 has the same wheels (just darker) and it's got the enkei symbol instead of scion.

the brochure say's it's "light weight" and "same overall weight", but i was wondering if they're as well made as other aftermarket rims from enkei, or any other brand.

The wheel that most resembles the RS1 wheels that I can find are the RS+Ms which come in at around 18 lbs for an 18x8 which isnt too bad, but the added weight will be magnified by the larger diameter.

Heres what they look like:

Sounds like you know the answer: how much does a stock tC wheel weigh?
