Default My little project...

So...These wheels have been off my car for a while now, took them off when I was having axle problems. I decided to restore em a bit because there was curbage on 2 wheels and just as I had finished one wheel, which came out great...i noticed that there was a black ring going around the entire wheel where the face/lip meet. I couldn't sand down that part no matter what I tried, and I can't remove the face because they are welded on. And to be honest...I was getting tired of the gold, these looked amazing on Lil_Will's car but lets face it..my car is nothing like his and I don't intend on purchasing a kami kit to go after his look. So here is my little project. This will take quite a while as I am on a really strict budget but I hope to get this all done before August when I'll be overwhelmed with school.

Looking forward to any and all comments, but to anyone that will call me an idiot and saying I should have just sold them, thats not happenin, i love em. I have a color scheme I'm pretty much set on however I'm open to suggestions, throw em at me!(If you can photoshop some color schemes that would be nice) The one part I'm not sure about is the center caps...

Here we go:
Took the plunge...

Where I got before taking a break...(Fukn Florida is too dam hot!..plus need to reup on sandpaper)

Some more progress..

The rivets are a bish..

And a little work on the back

Bash away!

damn, didn't know there was another set of these out there. Only other ones I knew of were lil_will and that other girl's SW that had them. I love those wheels! For sure you should keep them, waiting to see the results.

Gotcha, I didn't know who they went to. Nice set. I know FLEA will do a good job on them, seen some of his other stuff on SL. Keep them gold, I say.

Changing it up. I know their rare and I've searched how expensive they were originally, fully aware of that...but their in my possession now and seeing as how I don't intend to get rid of these in the near future I figure I'll try something different. Sorry if it upsets ya man but its something I wanna do

incorrect

the holes you see are the original pattern AND what someone has done later on down the line and re-drilled the wheels to fit another bolt pattern. no manf. would ever drill holes that close with only a few mm to spare for safety reasons... that wheel has been sent out for re-drilling previously then repainted thats all..

be original knox! who cares if they are rare... as long as u do a good job a good make over will be nice. GL!

I used to have a set of g-force wheels made by rays, bought them brand new and they were drilled exactly the same way.

you were lied too. period

companys DO NOT drill holes that close together like pete said.
that is an absolute re-drill.

ummm.... i dont think volk ever made a wheel called g-force.. rota did .... but i also highly doubt volk would EVER do something like the racing harts... thats just not something a manf. would do... its liability to them, and some common sense...

New pics added 1st post

Its almost ready for priming. The entire barrel is scuffed up. The area around the rivets is mad annoying but I managed to get the majority of it. I'm aware theres still gold left but I'm told as long as I scuff it up good I should be fine. The center where the lugs go actually came off in flakes which made it fast and easy. Just gonna touch up some more spots, spray some sem solve on that bish to get rid of grease/wax,tack cloth and on to priming, which will be Monday, done for today..
