Default Need Some Adviced

Not sure if this is the correct section for this but, Heres my issue i have a 06 tc with 56xxx miles on it, last night Getting Home from a Meeting i was on the Express Way doing about 60 mph and i noticed a low to med vibration coming from the drive side not sure if the wheel or something, but i also noticed if i turn left it gets worse,no noise just a very violent vibration,if i turn right no issues,

So what do you gies think maybe a axle or bearing,my car is lowered on teins h, i have front wheel spacers on 20 mm im hoping that wouldnt cause the issue,

so basicially anything over 35 mph low vibration, the fast you go the the more voilent ill come and when turning left its really vibrates, no grinding noise of any kind..

I took the wheel off and inspected everything, and heres what i found, not sure if this is normal, but i took a picture i noticed grease or something leaking, i checked my axles and there fine but i did noticed this102_2728.jpg?t=1283705562

I would jack it up, pull the wheel and take a look. If it "clicks" when you turn its usually an axle, but it would be pretty obvious too as you would most likely see grease everywhere from a torn axle boot as well. Check the back side of the wheels to see if any weights came looks and also the inner fenders for any indication of wear/rubbing. Hopefully its something simple like loose lugnuts or something. GL!

well i think i may have solved the issue,i took my wheel off cause i noticed when i rocked the wheel back and fourth it was a bit loose and herd some noise,so i check the other side and it was nice and solid no noise,so i took the driver side wheel off first thing i did was checked my wheel spacer, took a socket and carefully check the nuts that hold the spacer on and they were all loose,i was a bit surprised but makes sense,so i tightening them all back up greased them and ill update as the day goes on,i guess i better check my other spacers also, wouldnt want my wheel to fall off while going 70 mph on the free way hehe

Any hardware place, or auto parts store. Red thread locker is high strength, blue is the normal stuff. Up to you which to use.

Im not so sure about using RED loctite. Look at the link I provided on the details. It says that "Only removable using heat over 500 degrees F" ouch. Who wants to use a torch to remove their lug nuts? How about just re-torquing like the manual says??
the manual does say to re-torque all lug nuts after they're removed, at 1000miles. I've seen that even with factory wheels the lug nuts are a little loose at that mileage.

here's a link to the RED Loctite

http://www.loctiteproducts.com/tds/T_LKR_RED_tds.pdf

ALSO... That part that is leaking grease is your Tie Rod end, outer one. That's where it connects into the steering knuckle. That can cause issues later on with steering feel/control. Might want to get that fixed too.

it wasnt my lugs nuts that were loose cause i have a torque gun and torque them down to 76 lb.......i have wheel spacers 20 mm in the front,i guess the nuts that hold the spacer itself all of them got loose from vibration or what not,and causing that vibration that i felt espcially turning left it was really bad,so i took off the tire at first cause didnt think it was the spacer and so a leak in the tie rod but knew that wasnt the issue,so i put my wheel back on torqued them down and i moved the wheel back and fourth and it was loose not very solid and i could here metal to metal contact,so thats the first thing that came to mind was to check the spacer,so i did i check the nuts with my finger,to see if they were loose and long behold i can move all of them with my hand,so i tightened them all down put the wheel back on=,took it for a spin and boom problem solved,so i picked up some thread lock blue stuff and have to put it on...but thats the deal, the other issue i have to get fixed also,

i was goona do the red stuff, but the blue stuff looks like ill suit me better as its strong but i wouldnt have a hard time getting the bolts back off if needed,so see how it goes, worse comes to worse ill cement them down..only kidding..but yea i read some threads on which you would have to check them like every 3 k miles or so and retorque them if needed.....im just lucky my wheel didnt fall off, thats how loose they were, really bad...

I have a quick question cause I was thinking about getting some spacers for my car. D you have to cut the threads down on the lugs in order to install these? I saw a video on youtube where he had to cut them down and he was using a 1" spacer. Do you do the same for a 10-15mm spacer?

No they bolt right on.......takes 2 mins not even, per wheel, just make sure the nuts are really tight,i put some thread lock on mine cause of what had happen, but some spacers you probably do have to modify but the ones i got is bolt ons,

What could be the max size I would get away with? without having to modify the lugs...

I dont want some crazy offset but I think I want a little more than 5mm. lol
