Default new tires? Suggestions?

Im going to need a new set of tires..i currently have kumho ecsta ast 225/40R-18....the place where i got it at suggested kumho ADMIRAL 712 but i was unable to really find any solid info on them online...Does anyone know anything about these tires or have any suggestions of tires (hopefully around 120 a piece) that won't cost me an arm and a leg? should i just stick with the same tires...or are the admiral 712 better? Or should i get something else? Thanks in advance!

I used to recommend the Toyo Proxes4 tires but not anymore. As the tires get more mileage, they've begun to vibrate more and more, feathering along the sidewall. Tire pressures and alignment are all correct. Correct 215/45-17 size used as well. So I wouldn't recommend the Proxes4 anymore. At first they're great, but 12k-15k later they aren't as good as they used to be. Sad because I thought it was a good tire.

i was told that the admiral was made to replace the ecsta ast and that they have deeper treatds and are quieter. They are also however a couple dollars more...i am not sure if the guy was just lying to me to get me to buy the more expensive one or was telling the truth....anyone?

My friend got Falken Ziex ZE-912s for his car and they are nice. They handle well, he said they did great in a snow storm we had. Plus they look pretty good, and the treadwear rating is pretty good too.

if those are the ones Im thinking of...I've heard its a decent tire...but because of the unusual tread pattern.....they are very, very loud with road noise once you get rollin'.

i have the general uhps and love them and they are pretty cheap.. don't buy the 512 thus they are discontinued tires.. the 912 replaced them.. the 512 are defects.. go with either the 912 or the 452 falken.. the kumho asx are a decent priced tire or look into the gy eagle gt.. they are a little more but a decent tire

the main thing I don't like about falkens are that they wear on the edges really quickly

^^^^^the edge of the tread towards the sidewall. That wears out is what they're talking about. Sounds like the construction of the tire allows the sides to flex more causing wear? maybe.
