Painted my wheels
oh good lord, some people on these forums are so immature. good job on painting your rims buddy, the look great. its a great cheap mod; my first mod at that. dont let people discourage you from modding your car how you want to. there will always be someone that hates on your ride
Lol all these "cool kids" think they know what what theyre talking about on what looks good. Smh scion has really gone downhill since I left. Sure call me immature or a "hater" per-say but "sacrifice quality to save a buck or two" are you f'ing kidding me! No wonder it's full of ricer's in here. I guess painting stockies gets more respect now in days then the few that "spend a buck or two" more.
I meant no offense to the OP, and he understood my sarcasm.

Hate all ya guys want. When the wallet is light and a quick, easy mod is available, I'm going to take advantage of it. I'm in college and I do not have a steady salary like some of you. I don't depend on my parents for anything. I bought this car with my money and I'm responsible for anything that I want to do with it. I like the wheels and I plan on keeping them the way they are until I'm out of college with a steady job.
Thanks for the criticism though, I guess any advice is better than no advice

I can completely relate, low cost mods are all us college students can really afford for now,sady..but don't let anyone's opinion discourage you from modding your car. If you like it that's all that matters.
( I dont mean to jack your thread, but low cost mods don't need to look cheap, what you can't spend in money make up for it in time https://www.scionlife.com/forums/sho...hlight=trd05tc)

Ah, when I was in college my major was Poverty.
And I worked pretty darn hard to make money anywhere from managing in retail to selling commission at CompUSA a few years ago. I bought and paid for my car myself, so kudos to you for not having parents hand you free money to buy your car. I know too many persons that receive free cars from mommy and daddy for good grades, graduating high school, getting into college via attainable hand-outs from the government, or just for being biological offspring.
I'm not sure if you're aware of this, but you can order PlastiDip in custom colors online through their main Web site. You can also request mix kits to create your own colors. If you'd like to make your car pop in an economical manner (or, in order to be more attractive with colors, how about the adjective modifier "fruity explosion"? lol), I'd strongly recommend that you take a look at a Create Your Color Kit by PlastiDip. You can find the Web site here along with a video here: http://www.plastidip.com/home_soluti...Your_Color_Kit
I'm keen to think it'd be quite bold if you selected an unusual color for your tC as suggested by several of our peers in a few posts above. For my xB2, I went with silver, black, yellow, and chrome, and it looks really good in person. Explore your options!

Since I already did 4 coats of black Dip, would I do the other color over it? Or would I need to remove the black from the wheels? Noob question I'm sure, but like I said, I'm new to the WHOLE modding "thing".
Oh, and to touch on the parents that hand kids cars, I also know plenty of those. Plenty as in every single one of my friends lol. I don't hate on it. But, on the other hand I feel so much more grateful for my car and will take better care of it then most people that get them handed to them for a couple As. Feels WAY better to actually work for and earn what you have.
I think your paint job looks just fine. My only issue with it is that it's not a nice glossy black. IMO shiny gloss would look much better. But that's cause I'm a raccoon an like shiny things.
I actually have the same dark blue tc and plan on doing my rims white :D

I did this as a goof way back when I was transitioning colors lol drove to a show with my AutoArt VYC's in the car.
(Not plastidip)

Not as flashy dark on dark

For reference (my AutoArts
)

I strongly believe you gotta have that contrast in colors and with dark colored cars you get to get crazy with colors.
I like the OP's response a few post up. And for the record I was never handed a car or had mommy and daddy's bank account, all 10 sets of wheels, all turbo goodies, built bottom end, clutches, flywheels, 3 different coilovers, all body parts, countless custom misc parts were all funded by my hands.

thats exactly how i feel about little kids like you... and probably about 95% of the kids on this board that make scion owners look like immature cry babies...
get a clue kid lol
marcial... and then you wonder why the FAP group exists... to avoid coming here and just watching stupid threads like this

Spending a buck or two more means spending a grand or so on new wheels and tires. That's a lot of money when you just plain don't have it.
And some of us (meaning me) just really like to do DIY customizing sometimes.
