Ugh, I hate shopping for wheels. It annoys me when I finally find a set I like, but it's way out of my price range.
Anyone have some suggestions for good wheels that are actually affordable? I'm looking to spend no more than $1200 for a set of wheels. OR should I just not worry about it and wait to build up some money and dump it on some really nice wheels in a few years?
Edit: Something I could autox on would be nice. I don't want show quality wheels here. I just want something that looks nice that can take some abuse on the track and on a daily driver.

get a nice selection of choices built up, if you can't find some wheels that you like for $1500 (yes i know you don't have that much yet), then you have taste that to, too expensive for your 17yrold self. you may as well save that money something esle cause i guarantee that in a few years you're not going to want to put rims on this car.
depending on what you want i'd be patient and get some wheels that you love--don't settle. and stay up-to-date on what people have in the PPC:Wheels&Tire section. search WRX and VW forums too, you don't even have to be a member to search around

But if not then just keep on looking around. A deal will pop up sooner or later for other wheels you may want. And like what purpled_out_tC had said above me, don't just settle for anything. Just make sure to take your time.
Thanks for the tips guys. I've been looking around for a little over a year now for wheels, but nothing has really caught my eye (except for the expensive brands: Advan, Rays, SSR, Wedsport, Work, ect.). I don't want to spend crazy amounts of money on wheels for a tC, but I'd like something nicer than stuff like 5Zigen, Sportmax, Konig, or Motegi wheels.
ScionTEK, I was actually considering those Gram Lights you mentioned a week or so ago, but I'd like to stay in the 17's. I'm keeping an eye on those Gram Lights 57Maximum though.
purpled_out_tC, my tastes are VERY expensive. If I do something, I want it done right. Believe me, settling for just anything is definitely NOT how I do things (if I did, I'd have some butt ugly wheels...like Konig!
). I plan on keeping the tC pretty much my whole life, so eventually I do want wheels though.
My list pretty much consists of: SSR SP1, SSR GT2, G-Games 77W, Enkei RP03, Gram Lights 57Maximum, Gram Lights 57C, Weds SA-70, Weds SA-90, and the occasional Volks I can find on Craigslist for a decent price.

I'm a big supporter of used wheels, and I have seen this set of GT-C's on Takumi Project for a while now:

They are 17x8 with a +33mm offset. Right now they're $1300 OBO, but they have been the for a while, you might be able to get them to drop the price....
