to remove wheel locks theives will hammer a socket over it or drill it out.

i got these from SummitRacing.com. replaces all 20 lugs. made of hard steel (not lightweight at all), so theives cant easily hammer a socket over it (they would need 20 anyway). it would take too much time to drill out all these lugs. theives are better off stealing my car instead LOL.

mcgard makes a set of locks similar to those above, but they have a ring around the edge which prevents a socket from being hammered on top.

I made a mistake in saying Mcgard makes the ringed wheel locks. Gorilla makes them.

They are called Gorilla Guard Locks.
They have a rotating sleeve around the lock which prevents someone from hammering a socket over it or using pliers to remove the lock. But this isnt full proof. The metal for the sleeve isnt fixed and its thinner steel. You could get a socket that matches the diameter of the sleeve and hammer it to break/push down the sleeve, but that would take alot of time and precision hammering. I think these would stop any thief on the street from jacking wheels. Thieves are better off stealing the whole car and taking it to a garage where they can take their sweet time, or searching the interior for the key. LOL. I saw these in person on a xB and I was impressed. Unfortunately Gorilla sells them only is packs of 4. So you'll need 5 packs with 5 different keys if you want to replace all your wheel lugs.

its called the "wheel lock system" by Gorilla
on www.summitracing.com, the part number is GOR-71633NBC.
here's a link to their site.
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...0&autoview=sku
they are available in chrome too.
read about them at http://www.gorilla-auto.com/products...image=6232.jpg

Mcgard's "spline drive" wheel locks use the same idea, but are available in different colors.

toyota (mcgard) wheel locks wont work on aftermarket wheels.

btw toyota (mcgard) also makes a master key set available to dealers in case owners lose their key.

they are actual lugnuts with a special design so you need a "key" aka special wrench to get them on or off thus lowering the chance of a thief jacking your wheels.

Yep, I agree with that. You could spend hundreds on these fancy wheel locks but if the thief is determined to get your wheels, then he probably will.
