They were on closeout earlier this week but I couldn't order yet because I didn't get my bonus until yesterday. Of course when I went to order yesterday, all of the good sizes were sold out.

How good is the deal? I just got a set of 225/45/17 for $104 a tire! They're regular $188 each.

As of this posting, they list the 215/45/17s as "fewer than 9 available" and the 225/45/17 are "in stock."

 

Ordered mine via phone on Monday before they posted the sale online thanks to a guy that was in the know :D Mine are sitting in my back room right now. Saving $352 on my autox set was too hard to pass up! A good number of the guys and gals in our local autox club knew about this as well, so a pile of orders went in monday night via phone.

The set I got was manufactured in June of 08, so they arent super old either.

The 01R's wont be THE tire for street tire classes this year, but it was at the top last year and will do very well out there.

 

Ya, they won't be the top. But for where I am, and the competition I get (minimal) I'm not too concerned. Plus they're an upgrade from the RT615s I ran last year (at least I think so).

 

If I had the money ...

 

Definitely better that the 615s from what I hear. That is what I ran as well last year. We have some very quick guys here, so the competition is tough. But, with moving up a notch on tires and changing out my suspension this spring I will have enough improvement (aka relearning the car) to play with this year without worrying if I have THE fastest tire out there.
