So a few weeks ago, my friend and I snuck into a dead parking lot at night to do some e-brake sliding, because we were bored and thought we might as well. After about 10 or so good slides (a few 180's) we decided to leave. I immediately noticed driving back home that there was a deep bass-y noise coming from the rear which I knew was from the sliding. I haven't done any more sliding since then and probably wont in the future, but now I'm stuck with scrape patterns on my rear tires that make such an annoying sound when driving.


Is there anything tire shops can do to repair the scrapes? I know I'll probably have to end up replacing the tire, but I was wondering if this is an easy fix for tire shops. Anyone else have similar things happen?


If anything, this is a lesson to anyone wanting to use the e-brake to slide. It will mess up your tires and will end up not being worth it.

 

Time to buy new tires.

yeah, i did that with my sc grand prix, except i held the ebrake down with i stomped the gas and burned out, dragged the car for about 100 feet, had a couple of nice flat spots on the rear tires. i rotated them to the front and did a few burn outs, it helped a little, until i was able to buy new tires...

 

Would that really possibly help? Sounds legit. The scrapes aren't that bad at all really.

 

No, it wouldn't. You would only be able to burn one up, unless you have LSD. And most likely, you have directional tires. So then you'll end up with 1 bald, 1 flat, and 2 fine. Get new tires.

 

next time do it on grass. i did it at my old high school football field, same exhilaration, no tire damage. cept i got grass all over the place...

my front tires take a beating from peeling out and every other light.

The_Chase.... you shouldve just gotten the Rear-wheeled version of the tC so you wouldntve had to simulate drifting...its only 2 grand more
