Why is it so difficult to find a shop out here that will do a 215/40/18 on a 9.5". One of the guy I called asked if I was on drugs. Straight up. Hahah.

 

Haha I got similar reactions when I went to Discount Tire and pulled the wheel out of the box. No one believed it would fit on a tC.

 

I drove an hour away to get my wheels mounted. People looked at me crazy when I asked if they could mount it. So I packed up four rims and four tires in the tC and rolled out.

 

215/40/18 isn't even a huge amount of stretch.

I either get a "hell no we can't" or a "it's a possibility."
I called another local shop and the guy seemed to know what he was talking about so I'll probably bring it to them and see if I have any luck.

I almost got a hookup with mounting/balancing for $45 plus tax for all four, but my buddy said he doesn't know if the machine they have will be able to bead it.

Yeah. That's not that much of a stretch at all. I think they are just lazy and don't want to do it. That would be a sick hook up. I paid $60 for all four. 225/40 on 9.5 wide.

 

Anyone know of any places around the 661 area? (Valencia, CA).

Stretching tires is a pain in the ___ though, I don't really think it's an "oh they're just lazy" factor.
