okay so I'm currently rolling on painted stock rims, and as you can see it doesn't looke too bad lol:





Anyways, I bought another set of stockies and sent them off to be powder coated. My intention was to use this second rims to host a set of azenies that I will only use when I auto x... heres how they came out...









I'm still drooling over em! lol I love it! However now I'm thinking I want to put my stock tires on those so I can enjoy them daily, and eventually put the azenies on my painted rims so I only have to look at them when I race haha.

what do you guys think I should do? use the powdercoated rims as my daily or once-a-week rim?

the issues are that if I decide to roll em daily, they are going to have to suffer through winter driving which makes me nervous because I want to maintain that perfect finish


also my painted rims have the tire pressure sensors in them... would it be possible to transfer them to the coated one for daily use?

any input or opinions would be greatly appreciated :-)

That powder coat will stand up to the winter a lot better then the paint. Use the painted ones for auto-x and the pc ones for daily.

 

hmm this is true. You think I'll be alright if I just clean and wax em often?

 

if you are really that worried about it then rock the powder coats during the summer and then put the painted ones on during the winter.

 

well I'm planning on putting the autox tires on the painted ones.... Yeah I could move the rubber as the seasons change but that sucks to pay for

 

Heck, I'm about to powder coat my stockies too. They look awesome. I would use those as the daily driver wheels.

I'll either just have to be carefull in the winter... or maybe I'll look into getting some steelies with winter tires on...

 

Use the PC w/ your all-seasons. You'll basically be getting more for your money if you get to see them all the time.

those are sick rims, I wish scion had the ability to let us choose painted stockies at factory.

 

use the powder coated wheels all season and the painted wheels for autox

 

they are PCed black (the lighting was bad so it might look weird to you in the pic)

Anyways thanks for the compliments and advice guys, I think I'm going to belle tire after work to have my all-season tires and sensors moved to the PCed rims :-)
