Default Rust on my alloy wheels

Hi, I am new to the forum. I search for any related topic and i couldn't find any.

So I bought my 06 RS 2.0 scion in July 2007. I rarely drive it, so far it has been driven for less than 5000 miles.

Something happens and recently noticed that, there are many bubbles on the alloy wheels..

Do you think the warranty cover the wheels???

Please help me, what should i do???

Stephanie

If it's warrantied, take it back to the dealer and tell them what you just told us. 5K miles and they have bubbles and rust on them? Unless you live where it constantly rains, that shouldn't happen.

the factory wheels are aluminum and they can not rust. it seems like bad paint. (not sure if powdercoated)

picture is not available at this time, i will take some when i have time.

I filed a claim with scion. they told me to bring the car into one of the dealership do an inspection, and if it is not causing by "outside force" they will cover that. if it is caused by outside force, I have to pay for the inspection............

Default bad news

I tried to post pics,, but how..

Well, i brought the car in to the dealership.
The inspector told me, he'd seen this happen all the time.
If you live close to the ocean, this thing will happen......
it is rust,... alumium is plated on the alloy wheel. so the interior is not alumium, it is some kind of metal.

so everyone be careful
