Default Staggered Rims

OK so I've heard a rumor that staggered rims on a FWD(like the TC) actually slows down your car..is this true? Cuz I was planning on adding staggered rims to my tc......if its gonna slow me down I don't want to do it......for all those who don't know what staggered rims are..they are when your rear rims have a deep(or somewhat deep) lip and your front rims don't or have a small lip...

there's no point in running a staggered set up on our cars...

There is some truth to that, but not the whole truth. Staggered wheels means that the width of the wheel is larger in the rear and smaller in the front, which can produce a bigger lip in the rear. RWD cars mostly have staggered wheels to help with understeering. On my car, I have 19x8.5 all around with a 4 inch lip in the rear and about 2.75 inch in the front so you don't have to have a staggered set up for differing lip sizes.

Oh, and don't do staggered wheels on the tC, it doesn't help and can cause problems with steering and turning.

pretty much a point less show mod. plus you can't rotate your tires because of the different sizes, which means quick tire wear.

alot of racers run staggered wheels on a FWD car.

however, they run the wider wheel up front, not in the back
