Default Steelies vs Alloys for Winter

I am going with a 16x6.5 or 7 inch wheel with either dunlops m3's or bridgestone blizzaks (195/55/16).

Which type of wheel is better to get in winter?
Will steelies hold the tire pressure sensors?

If steelies are better where do I purchase them besides on ebay. They are not available on tirerack(where I am buying the tires) and they seem to be hard to find in a 5x100 bolt pattern. Tried craigslist too.

Steel wheels are good for winter, you are not going to care much if the weather beats them up. If you can get your hands on some OE steel wheels from Scion/Toyota your chances of the sensors fitting will be better. I would contact a dealer for that question. If you do choose to have a little more style this winter and want to go with an Alloy pay attention to the finish. Gravel and salt beat up alloy wheels pretty quickly unless they are powder coated. The Momo winter wheels we offer are powder coated and will take the sensor.
