Default Tire choices

I am in need to replace my current tires. I bought a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 AS (stock size 215/45/zr17) and have been very pleased with them. Amazing grip rain or dry, I live in Portland OR area.

Problem is they are just too expensive, and due to some irregular wear my driver side front tire has worn more then the rest.

I am looking for a good tire that will perform well but not wear out too soon.

Current choices are (from les schwab):

Federal SS-595 - $83.29
Maxxis MA-v1 - $83.29
Zexius XI-427 - $113.96 (leaning towards this due to non-directional)
Toyo Proxes 4 - $164.64 (too expensive)

for referance: Goodyear Eagle F1 AS - $140.00

any preferances/reasons for any of the first 3?

Looking for all-seasons then, I presume?

Check the General Exclaim UHP. They get really great reviews on TireRack.

Go price your tires from www.onlinetires.com ...suspiciously cheap lol.
Then go to your nearest America's Tire / Discount Tire and have them price match it.

Onlinetires.com prices:
No Zexius
Federal $53
Maxxis $60
Toyo $90

The UHP are summer, the altimax hp are the all seasons if he wants those.

I actually just got the general altimax hp but I have gotten installed yet. I am getting it done next week sometime.

i'd check out the alignment if the front is wearing more than the rest and guessing where you're at you might need some nice snow tires ;)

i just picked up a set of these...

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....t+Z1+Star+Spec

i got them in stock 215/45/17 size for $117 a tire. i could not be happier with them. my tc is making well over 400whp and with these tires i can get traction from 2nd gear on up at wide open throttle. i can also make turns at speeds that it shouldn't be possible to make. best street tires out there imo.
