Default TPMS or not ?

I'm looking to purchase a new set of wheels.

Are there any complications if the TPMS sensor is not installed ?

Can't measurements be taken manually every month or two with
a simple hand gauge ? Aren't manual measurements more accurate
(depending on the tool ofcourse) than the digital monitor ?

I ofcourse will not disabled the interior lamp light. But how long
will the warning signal ring ?

Thanks for any help.

Im currently running without tpms cause my wheels didnt have the groove to make them fit correctly. I heard there are adapters you can buy to make it fit. Its sorta like a rubber band.

Measurements can be taken like every month or so. I dont see why that would hurt.

The tpms light be being to blink for a a few minutes and then remain on. Doesnt bother me though. I think of it as a light to remind me to check my tires when I can. hahah

yeah that's what i've heard as well. a friend of mine with a chrysler crossfire doesn't have stock wheels. he said he has to buy this adapter thing from mercedes for it to work. off topic? a little. related? yes.

i'm not going to look around for you but i'm sure you can spend a few minutes on the interwebs and calling around, maybe the tech department at your local toyota dealer. good luck.

Does the sensor provide any real-time benefits ? Is the pressure reading continuous even if the car is in motion ?

Obviously measurements can be taken manually a thousand times a day but in terms
of safety the issue is if TPMS provides a reading while you are in motion that may
alert you to imminent tire failure.

i really don't know that actually. i know that if your tire blows out, you will be alerted. i'm not too sure how it works though.

I believe it tells you when the tire pressure drops 10 psi from whatever it was set at. what year tc do you have?

the sensors continuously monitor the tire pressure... yes, even while in motion.

complications of them not being installed... is the ecu will not be able to monitor the tmps system obviously.. and thus will throw an error in the form of the warning light on your dash.

Not a big deal. You can remove the warning light or just deal with it. I got my car stripped from the auto auction over a year and ago and have had no problems with the lack of a monitor. Can't justify spending 100 a wheel for something just to get ride of a little light that a soldering gun can deal with just as easily.

When the light has come on I notice the tire pressure of the one causing the warning being around 25 pounds, maybe a little less. It keeps track of the pressure real time. I had a nail in a tire and would lose a good amount of pressure like 2 days after being filled. The light would turn on while I'd be driving and would have to stop at the next gas station to air it up. I did that twice til I was able to get it repaired.

arent the tpms sensors set to monitor the stock 17s tire pressure, I recently bought some 18s but havent had tires put on them yet. does anybody know if 18s should have a different pressure reading or what because if so why bother even changing the sensors because they wont get accurate readings anyways? or will they lol i dont know???

Transmitters can be transferred to your new wheels.
