Default TPMS Question, Tried the search button..

I have an '08 tC, obviously with the TPMS. I want to put some winter tires and steel wheels on the car. If I don't spend the money for pressure sensors in the wheels, what will happen? I can live with a yellow light on my dash for the winter if that is all that will happen. Thanks for any help!

the TPMS can be taken out, moved and installed on the new wheels. The only problem is paying for that service.

Also, make sure that the sensor can fit on the wheels

if youre going to swap than you might encounter what happened to this guy:

07 and plus have TPMS, so it will be the same. I advise that you transfer the sensors cause most people can't stand to see the tire pressure light on their dash.
The transfer is mad easy but it takes time to change each one. And don't go to the dealer cause they will overcharge, or refuse to do it claiming it will void your warranty.

Thanks for the advice! I'm not worried about having the light on the dash. I wasn't sure if the system was tied into the ABS or something else that would affect the car. I don't want to swap the sensors because then they'll have to be swapped back in spring.

I thought that there was a way to turn off the TPMS light though.

I guess you could always remove the LED that lights it up.
