I know this seems like the normal how do you reset the sensor thread but I'm having some issues doing that. Lol. First off its in an 05 so it doesn't actually have the sensors. Anyways. I've tried doing everything as far as resetting it but the light doesn't ever blink or go away. It's just a steady light. Any help or suggestions would be fantastic. Thanks.

 

Are the pressures for all 4 tires at the correct setting? 32 in the front, 29 in the rear. If so, open your glove compartment box and there should be a button on the top left corner to reset the TPMS light, just hold it down for a couple of seconds.

 

I've done all that. Lol. Never flashes.

 

My light came on for the first time today, after replacing tires, and I had problems getting it to blink. I tried a couple times and this is what worked for me-
1) turn ignition switch to on (TPMS light should remain lit)
2) press/hold button in glove box until light turns off
3) turn ignition off, wait a few seconds then turn ignition on
4) press/hold button and wait for light to blink 3 times and then stay off (slow blinks)

The manual says “Initialization is completed after driving at the speeds of 30km/h (19mph) or over for more than one hour.” Does anyone know if it has to be at one time, or can I drive it for twenty minutes for a few days?

 

I tried that also. Still can't get it to even blink. I wonder if the button to reset it is somehow broken. Because it never does anything.

 

Even if the button is broken, it should reset itself after 20-30 miles if everything is in their proper setting i.e. tire pressures. You might have a problem with a ABS sensor, which is the 05-06 tC's version of TPMS. Try going to a shop and see if you can retrieve any codes off the TPMS light, or see if a shop can plug in the OBD2 computer and read the data off each ABS sensor to see if it's reading correctly. That's about the only other issue I think that would cause the light to stay on.

 

I would suspect your switch may be broken if it doesn't do anything at all. You could try disconnecting the switch and checking it with a multimeter. If it tests bad, then just get a new switch. If it tests good, then you may have to bring it to a shop to check the computer. I'd check the switch first before you pay a shop to run diagnostics for something that may be so simple.
