Default Tread Depth Question..

Hey all...

Searched around but couldn't find anything meaningful to my question...

I just had my car inspected last week and they told me all four tires had 6/32 tread left. I think that was the number, here at work and don't remember fully off my head.

Anyways with this being my first car with low-profile tires, what is the minimum before I should start shopping for tires? I have just about 20k on the stock Yokohamas, rotated every 5k.

They're not slipping at all and still drive well, even survived the winter quite nicely.

Any info is much appreciated and just curious to those who had stock Yokohamas, did you stick with them or go a different direction.

Thanks.

Try this site. It says 1/16" minimum, and the width of the tire doesn't affect that safety rule at all.

rotate your tires often, especially on low pro's!

Yeah I have been rotating them every 5k... is that not enough? That's what I did w/ my old tires...

This is my first vehicle w/ them...

Anyone recommend new tires when it comes time?
