Ok so i have decided to go with some 18x8 +45 wheels and i'm lowered on stechs. I want to keep about the same tire+wheel dimensions as with the standard OEM ones, maybe a bit bigger.What wheel size do i need? i really like the look of stretched tires a lot. would 215/40/18 do the trick? Thanks in advance

 

You already know what WHEEL size you want, you said it. (18x You're looking for tire size. If the car is a DD, I would suggest against stretched tires.

 

^^^ what he said. stretched tires on dailies tend to end badly especially if you're in a region where potholes and uneven pavement is common

 

o i'm sorry guys i made a mistake there. what i need help with is the tire size to go with those wheels.

 

I forget what stock wheels look like but if I recall correctly there isn't too much tire. I'd probably do like 225/30,35/R18. I got 225/45/R17 on my car and they're really beefy, its the way I wanted them. I'd just go into the aftermarket wheel thread, look for something you like that's on an 18 inch wheel and see what he's runnin.

Stock tires are a 215/45/17.

 

are they really? Cuz the wheels on my tc look a hell of a lot beefier then other stock tcs rollin around.

Yep, stock is 215/45/17. 215/40/18 would be fine and actually wouldn't be stretched much at all, but you could use 235/35/18 as well.
