Default wheel damage by dealer???

Brought my car last friday morning to have a TRD muffler installed and picked it up later that evening after i had gotten off work. The next morning as i was washing my car i noticed TWO freakin' huge scratches on the front passenger rim. The two gashes were so bad that pieces of the tire literally ripped off. I could understand if I had caused this because that is something i would be able to hear happen. I remember riding with a friend of mine in his tc when he parked too close to the curb. The rims made a loud scraping noise as he f'd up his rim. and that left a small insignificant scratch. My car has one huge 3" scratch and another 2" gash on the opposite side of the rim. Is there any action i can take? I know if i call up the dealer and report wat happened no one would ever fess up to their carelessness & stupidity.

Service Manager, that would be the person you want to talk to.

I havent had much luck with my dealer and them fixing scratches. I have two scratches on my spoiler, that I know was caused by them, and they said it was from a "outside source". So basically they told me to F* Off. I was pretty mad about them not fixing it, but other than that I have zero complaints with their service.

i think you all should demand to talk to some owners at your dealerships. those situations are all unacceptable.

I was very happy they didnt try to put it on me, also when they installed my lip spoiler, they scratched the whole trunk up and they buffed everything right out. Bummer your not closer to illinois

contact service manager, not the advisor who handled the vehicle
dont come off being completely PO'd, i understand the frustration, but be polite at first
unless they start denying things, then you have all right to flip out

thats why i love my dealer having cameras inside/outside of the shop
we can tell what car had what damaged when they brought it in

I had the same experience and they fixed my RS 1 wheel. Always demand them to inspect your wheels and put a note on their paperwork, then when you pick it up, check for any damage on your wheels. I heard a lot of car lift can do serious harm to your wheels if not used correctly.

they can if the techs dont pull the car in correctly
with the limited sidewall on tC wheels it happens more than it should

but usually doesn't with other toyota vehicles, since they have bigger wheels/sidewalls

I've recently noticed my stock rims are JACKED up from the dealership rotating the tires.

I'd make an issue out of it, but frankly, I'm changing the rims, and I've already gotten in enough arguments with Toyota dealerships.

You, however, should call the number in my sig.

It's unbelievable the damage dealerships cause to customers car. I think it happens so much because 90% of people wouldn't notice stuff like this. They know this and don't really care.

This is why my car hasn't been back to the dealer since the day I took delivery. Unless you get to stay with it and watch their every move, they will deny everything.

Botom line is Stealerships suck and so do their service deptments.

when I had my TRD springs installed, somebody jacked up 3 of my wheels around the lugs with the impact wrench. I'm not talking about scratches, but multiple, significant *chips* on 3 wheels. that's complete BS. what sucked was I couldn't even complain about it because I had an actual tech do it on the side at the dealership for $180 (rather than the $600+ another dealership quoted me). if I was stupid enough to pay full price, you better believe I'd be raising hell until they replaced all 3 wheels. never have work done under the table!

I think if more people would start catching all this damage and holding the dealer responsible. It would stop and the techs would start HAVING to respect customers cars. Until the service managers force the workers to be careful. I don't see it getting any better in the future.
I don't see how it's so hard to treat customer vehicles with care. Unless they are forced to do the service work as fast as possible. Hell, it's not a Nascar pit stop for Gods sake. LOL

I also wrote a complaint letter to the mfgr on the scion.com website. They followed up and told me to call. After giving it some thought I knew deep down nothing would ever be done so I just decided to let it go. Anyways i'm looking to get some new rims.
