Default Why to not buy cheap wheels

here are a couple of things i've seen today about cheap wheels. this is one of my last fyi's before i visit this site frequently

Selling my set of Rota Torques, the infamous Work Emotion Kai CR reps. The rims are in perfect condition with no curb rashes whatsoever. The problem is that i hit a pothole a few weeks back and developed a SLIGHT crack on the inner barrel of the rear.

heres another one

I have VM CSLs on my car now and while they look great, they're ALL bent badly from daily use over the past year. We don't have supremely smooth roads around here, but we certainly don't have all that poor of roads either and I'm very disappointed by how fragile these have been.

VM CSL's are reps that are a cast wheel. in the same thread

I will say that I had the same problem as you. Lost 6 M6 reps with generals

i think there are a lot of issues with these wheels but people don't want to post up about them. I think this needs to be known so this is a FYI post

yeah that sucks, they can afford an expensive car, but they don't even bother with quality rims. Got a guy that drives a nice bmw at work, but with some adr rims....oh and here's a pic for all those tc's rocking them tsw rims.

Konig i've heard easily cracks.. replicas to me are still fine as long as you dont ask alot or complain about them when issues arise.. stick with the real ones when you can

There's just one thing I don't understand...

If you can afford a high end luxury car (ie BMW, Benz, ect.), why do people skimp out on wheels?

actually the most common wheel on bmw's is reproductions. not really sure why but a lot of people don't want to spend 2-3k on wheels. but i will say that e90's have a lot more people willing to spend money on their car than here. this is just an fyi post guys. nothing against anyone

What's the difference? Whether it's on a Kia or a Ferrari, it's still a crappy rim.
