Default wide rims

how wide of rims can you fit on a tc without mounting them offset and not have any fender well rubbing. I was looking at 18'' wheels, i don't want ridiculously huge rims just somewhat wider than what i have now in the hopes that i could have better traction for taking off and overall

A lot depends on if you're going to drop your tC. Since Springs vary the drop height, your offsets and widths will vary also. I have TRD Springs (1.25" drop all around) and my set up is 18x8.5 with 225/40 tires. I very rarely rub. Of course, your local road conditions will contribute to rubbing also. (Dips, uneven pavement, etc.) Other people who have different set ups can hopefully chime in and help you out.

I don't really plan on lowering. Woudn't lowering cause uneven tread wear because the camber angle is not perfectly aligned. I have seen adjustable camber links and alignment kits but it seems to be more work or money than necessary, so consider my question at stock ride height. thanks
