Wider tires for improved traction ?
i am looking to buy a TC and i have two questions about handling upgrades:
1 - I'm looking at 19 inch rims but I would appreciate any help in trying to determine the widest possible tires.
Tirerack appears to package only 225s with all their 19 inch rim. Aren't wider possible ?
2 - I would like to install either TRD Shocks kit or the TRD Coil-Over kit. I can't decide
because I don't know what effect the choice will have on the question above.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

1) depends entirely on the width of the wheel you're looking at
2) if you're going for something as big as 19s, i definitely wouldn't go any lower than the TRD springs - or something equivalent.

19s + wide tires + lowering = lots of rubbing.
i'd keep the width to minimum. if traction is a major concern, you shouldnt consider 19s (which are more of an appearance mod for tCs).

thanks for all the replies.
perhaps i took my concern for traction a bit far.
i really would like to keep the rims at 19 inches but finding
a decent range of options at that height is not so easy.
i'll limit the needless complications and stick with 225. thanks again.

Forget getting wider tires, just get some quality 225s and not worry about it. How hard are you/could you be driving on 19s anyway.
I say stick with 17s or 18s at most if you want performance, 19s are total show rims IMHO.
