Default Widest wheel to fit on tC?

Heys guys... Just wondering what's the widest wheel I can fit on the tC? I just purchased a tC the other day and I'm already bored to tears with it. I think it needs some track time (and a set of analog controls).
I was thinking of going with a 16x10, or at the narrowest, 16x8 with a 48mm offset. I have custom 9.6kg front and 10.2kg rear Eibach/ground controls and Koni Yellows for my stance.
Any help would be appreciated.

p.s. has anyone yet conceived an idea of how to swap out the drive-by-wire system with a traditional cable setup?

I have 18x9, ET24. I think you could fit a 10 inch wide wheel at ET45. at that point you couldn't lower the car more than 2 inches, stretch the hell out of the tires, and roll the rear fenders.

Maybe a cable throttle system could be used from other 2AZ-FE equipped cars like the previous Camry or RAV4 (assuming they use throttle cables).
The new Civic Si is drive by wire, but I read you can use the throttle cable system from a RSX or EP hatch.

Thanks... I think 2in. is about as low as I would want to drop it anyways. I hope it fits :squeeze:.

I'll try to look further into that cable conversion idea. I'm sure it's been a nuisance to others aswell.

As for the wire why? Are you making this a stright track car... I know theres a slight pause on this system and that it acts wierd on some turbos but dude why?

I just feel more comfortable with a clutch and a throttle cable. It's so much easier (for me) to be able to adjust the clutch contact point by just adjusting the slack on the cable. I've also always been known for, and proud of, my smooth psuedo automatic-feel clutch engagements. This DBW system makes me feel like a chump when it bucks and pumps. It's just a preference... I'm sure some people enjoy this kind of push button control.

Also, this is my first Toyota. I've been a Honda tech head since the EF's. Honda kind of dissapointed me with its oddly unintimate UFO styling of the new civic, but I needed a new toy car. I'm still trying to get used to the idea of something that doesn't have cable controls and rev to 8k.

The best widest tire you could fit and offers the best performance is an 17X8 rim with 45+ offset wrapped with 245/40/17 you will hug corners with that setup thats the setup I want.

Would this be possible with the H techs from TEIN?

So what would be the widest 16inch wheels that could be used then? Sorry to ask so much but I'm looking for a set of wheels for the track.

Found it, 19x10 in front, and 19x12 in back, with 265mm and 305mm tyres.

Daang nice rims!! Do they actually imporve handling? I would go with light 17's, I wouldnt go with 16" on wide tires 17"'s will suit you fine.

Wheels that big (heavy) are going to hurt perfomance. They have a much larger contact patch, but the suspension is going to be working hard to keep the wheels in check.
