I'm interested in some 19x8.5 wheels with a 35 offset. Tires would probably be 235/35/19. Will it fit? rubbing?
my current wheels are 18x8 with 35 offset, running 225/40/18 no problem.

You might be ok if the tC hasn't been lowered. It will most likely rub if lowered. I have 19X7.5 and the sales person told me 235 SR3519 will rub (TRD lower springs). I ended up with 215SR3519. The rubbing for me was with the rear tire wall rubbing on the side of the tire when I hit a dip.

If you roll your fenders, I would think 225 should be fine, 235 might still be too wide. If you really want to go wider tires, you could go lower profile maybe 25 or 30 instead of 35. the problem with proile that low is you're really taking a chance of bending your rims.

I had a 18X8.5 wheel on my TC and I went with 235/40/18's..rub central!!! If you are currently running 225's and they are not rubbing..it might work.. Rolling your fenders will no do a thing. Where the tire would rub you cannot roll or shave anyways. Where the rear bumper meets the quarter panel meet on the inside of the fender..you will see a bolt the attaches them together..that's what rubs.

all the people who speculate.... I HAVE 19x8.5 wheels with a 215/35/19 tire and tein coilovers at the LOWEST possible setting and it rubs a tiny bit over big NY potholes. the wheels at this width and offset make the car look totally amazing. heres some pics in my forsale thread with my wheels. https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...153&highlight=

they will fit but you will rub im running 19x8.5 with 35 offset and 235/35/19 tires. I rolled my rear fenders just a tad and removed some of the plastic off from the inside of the wheel wells. I do rub on the front but just not as bad as the rear. AND im on a TRD drop.

rubbin action. i have 19x7.5 and with a 225 and i rub pretty good on dips and stuff. also be careful bc with a 215 on a 8.5 your going to be stretched and have a exposed lip so um...... i'd be worried about ____ing up my rims.
