2016 Headlight Adjustment Tail Light issue..
Hello Everyone!
I recently bought a 2016 Scion tC and until a few days ago have managed to not have to drive it at night or in inclement weather so I wasn't aware that my passenger headlight is practically shining horizontally 45+ degree's to the right instead of straight ahead.
Making it practically useless. I found the small 8mm adjustment bolt above the bulb on the headlight assembly and gently twisted it both clockwise and counter clockwise 35 turns in either direction but had no noticeable swing either direction of the beam.
Another issue I noticed is the driver side tail light doesn't "come on" unless I tap the center of the lens cover.. but the brake light still works. Doesn't happen every time, and I'v checked for loose wiring kinda got me stumped here..
Any advice would be awesome, Google has given me nothing on the headlight and I haven't started Googling on tail light.
Thanks!

For the headlights, I'd try removing and reinstalling the bulbs to make sure they're in properly. They twist and lock into place. If they're HID's they need to be size 9006 (even tho the stock size is 9012).
For the tails, I'm assuming you mean the parking light. The brake lights are self-contained led units but the parking bulbs are just little 194's. You can pull out the stalk and check to make sure the bulb is fully seated (I replaced mine with red led's and the car looks much better - doesn't have that pinkish hue anymore).

As for breaklight the outer ring of light as well as the 5 "bulbs" in the light will not illuminate when headlights are on unless I tap them once. Pic of assembly provided for reference.
9006 and 9012 are physically the same, except one is flipped 180* from the other, so the orientation of the bulb is flipped. Doesn't matter a ton but for HID's the ground wire is on the opposite side so you get a big shadow in the output once it's installed if you use 9012.
And yes, I have a 2014 I know what the lights look like lol. The inner leds only light up when you press the brakes, you're saying the brake light also doesn't work unless you tap it? If so you'd need to replace the tail light assembly to fix as that's not a serviceable part. The outer ring is the parking light. Pop that bulb out and test different things while the parking lights are on to see if you can make it stay lit. Sounds like a loose connection.

2 things-
1. 9006 and 9012 bulbs are identical in beam pattern- the difference is in the locking tabs of the 9006 bulb. A 9006 bulb will fit in our 9012 housing if you trim the tab. If you have OEM halogen bulbs they are 9012, and any aftermarket 9012 bulb will work including HIDs. Check that they're seated properly- they should click in firmly with a quarter turn. Next, our headlights don't have horizontal adjustment, only vertical. So that screw you were adjusting is only for vertical aim, now that you touched it I'd advise re-aiming both headlights (its very easy, youtube has plenty of tutorials).
2. For your tail-lights, it sounds like either the bulb is intermittently failing (and needs replaced), or you have a lose connection probably the bulb isn't all the way plugged into the connector. Take out the bulb inspect it, and either re-insert it into the connector or replace it with a new bulb (in which case its probably best to also replace the other side as well).
