Hey guys, I have been thinking about making badgeless grills for the tC2. I already have a template and can make a few of them if people are interested. To get it to fit, you would need to modify your front bumper, by cutting out the factory emblem. But with the grill I am thinking of making you would be able to go badgeless without having to pay a body shop to do all the work, and you wont have to repaint the front bumper.

Is there any interest in me doing this?

 

It sounds like a good idea to me i would be down as long as it isn't too complicated as far as badge removal

 

I'm curious as to how you would cut out the emblem in the front bumper without needing body filler or paint afterward

So basically, I would make a template for you guys to know where to cut the stock bumper, then the grill would cover the holes left, ultimately making the front look like it came with a grill and you simply removed the badge from that grill.
It would look similar to this:

but on a tC instead... giving you the appearance of this:

 

Would you guys be more comfortable if I made 1 first to show pictures?
I have my stock bumper left over, so I could actually make the grill and give examples.

I understand what your idea is but I still can't grasp how someone is going to cut the emblem out of the front bumper and be able to cover it with a grill. Maybe pictures like you said would help me

It would be better to show a video on youtube of the process this way there's less questions to answer later on. Far better than just pics.

 

Wow I was just thinking how to pull it off without wasting a ton of cash on a body shop and I was kind of frustrated that these are so much more complicated than the first gen's to go badgeless in the front. So YES I'm SO interested! If It's as you describe it so far I feel like it'd be an awesome sucess

Ok, I think this is enough interest for me to build one and show you guys what I am planning on making.

I want to toss out now though, that these grills will be super limited "production" I am not planning on making any more than like 5, unless it become a huge success. I have wednesday off, I will start working on it then, and I will post some pics/get a video for you guys to see in the next couple of weeks.
