Default Bike Rack

I'm trying to convince myself to be more physically active. I figure one way to start would be riding my bike from work to lunch (I don't want to wake up at the time that would be required to ride to and from work).

That being said, does anybody know of a good bike rack that won't damage the paint on my tC2.5? The last one I had rested on the trunk lid of my cavalier and the pads scratched the car like you wouldn't believe.

Trunk racks are for chumps. Grab a Yakima roof rack.

Thought about it, but then I still have the risk of tearing up my car when getting my bike up there ...

Don't worry about it. My girl and I both ride 29ers. She has no issue getting her bike on my roof and I've had my rack for nearly 3 years. Not a single accident. Its actually more secure too. I ride a 22" frame and it hung over both sides of my car when I tried a trunk rack. That is why I returned it and invested in the Yakima.

I also like the hitch-style racks in the back, but I'm not sure how much I would have to do to make that possible.
Do you have a link to the one you're talking about?

I have the Yakima Q Towers system. If you go to the Yakima website you can find the proper items to fit the tC2.

beautiful, was curious how the mounting looked on a scion tc, do you know estimate of how much you paid for all of it? and does your moon roof open all the way without problem? this is going to be a future project of mine.. thanks!

As long as you properly position the towers, the moon roof has full functionality. You can see it is fully open in the pics.

I spent maybe 650 total. That is including 2 bike carriers though. They were 150ish a piece.
