I'm sorry Im lost. so you change the relay in order to switch from the stock filament bulbs to LEDs? And thus prevents hyperflashing?

and basically avoid everything LED-fanatic Scion202 had to do????

Does that also include LEDs for the taillights (brake lights)? By just changing the flasher?

Yes! Avoiding everything Scion202 had to do! I. Surprised he didnt go this route...he seems to be very in tune with car wiring.

And the flasher doesn't have anything to do with switching to LED tail lights. Just make sure you get CK-type bulbs and it is a quick swap. There is a thread on LED tail lights in the owners lounge.

hes good with car wiring...this is obviously not about wiring, more like plug n play haha

hey if u have time can u PM everything u know/what i need to get to do a complete exterior led swap (i only have the reverse and license plate lines done) thanks!

I guess he considered the flasher relay and was like naaaaaah that's WAY too easy. Lol

And I'm the closing manager at my store so imma message you some stuff when I get home on my computer mayne.

Scion202 09-10-2011 11:02 PM

wtf is all the gossip here bout! :come: haha

im just wating 4 one of u actually implement it and make sure it works! way too busy nowadays to try stuff out :loser:

biglilsteve 09-10-2011 11:12 PM

Hahahaha well mine came in the mail right before I had to go to work so I will click it in tomorrow morning. My leds probably wont be in until Tuesday-ish but I will tell you if it at least works with the incandescent bulbs

BeloZero 09-11-2011 01:00 AM

it wont work with regular bulbs, too much resistance so they wont light. wait till ya get everything, im sure it will all work just fine!

Scion202 09-11-2011 01:13 AM

if LED burns out will hyperflashing occur to let u know it happened?

biglilsteve 09-11-2011 01:16 AM

It is an electronic flasher as opposed to a load-based flasher so it will flash at its normal rate regardless of bulb type.

With that being said, Scion202, it may not hyper blink to notify of a bulb out...

Scion202 09-11-2011 01:36 AM

Steve skip the politeness, you can just call me Yuriy

I know that several sites sell the CF-18 flasher, but I got mine from v-leds:
http://www.v-leds.com/resistors-flas...ignal-fix.html

Mainly because it specifically stated that the lock/unlock confirmations WILL work.

Getting the old flasher unplugged was a bit of a pain with the awkward work space under the dash. I had to pull the stock one off of the frame where it was attached so I could get it unplugged. You guys will see when you get under there lol.

Anyway, my preliminary tests results were very promising...as expected!

I unplugged one of the blinker bulbs from its socket and turned that blinker on with the stock flasher. It hyperblinked as it should. I swapped flashers and did the same test...no hyperblink!! It flashed at it's normal rate. With that being said, obviously we lose warning if we have a bulb out. That's not really a concern though because we are all so in-tune with our rides that we'd notice very quickly.

Also, the keyless entry lock/unlock confirmations work as they should :)

Can't wait to plug in these LEDs when they arrive on Tuesday to see the real deal!

so I've got the same relay a you steve... but something seems weird... it seem like the blink rate is actually slower than the stock blink rate... somehow it seems a bit too slow after switching the relay... thoughts?

biglilsteve 09-12-2011 01:50 PM

I believe i know exactly what you are referring to. For me, the initial blink is like .5 seconds longer than normal. After that though it is close to stock for me. Perhaps a little slower, but not very noticeable after the first blink. Is that what you are talking about?

vaxc3 09-12-2011 05:20 PM

pretty much... it just seem like there is now a delay after I hit my signals...

or maybe I'm just used to hyper flashing... LOL :rolling:

biglilsteve 09-12-2011 10:46 PM

Just confirmed mine works like a charm! Just replaced all four corners and they all blink as normal. They have a neat color to them too...a cleaner amber than stock.

And we get rid of the egg yolk in the fronts and rears :)

vaxc3 09-12-2011 10:48 PM

while we are on the subject... anyone know the bulb type for the side-mirror turn signals?

biglilsteve 09-12-2011 10:50 PM

They aren't a bulb-type. There is an LED diode (i know that is redundant) soldered directly to a circuit board. The only way you are replacing that is to do some re-soldering...I'm leaving them alone :(

vaxc3 09-12-2011 10:56 PM

damn egg yolk side-mirror signals...

biglilsteve 09-12-2011 10:57 PM

What??...they don't egg yolk...

Egg yolk is when you look at the reflector housing while the bulb is off and you see the amber from the bulb reflecting in there.
