Default Fog light question

Hey guys,

My tC did not come with the fog lights when I bought it a month and a half ago but I was thinking of getting them installed...probably just oem unless anybody has a better idea...

...but anyway, I was also going to put some HID in my headlights, 6k, and my question is, could I theoretically just buy two HID conversion kits and make my fog lights 6k HID to match and if I did would the fogs be too bright or scattered due to them not being projector style.

I realize that they are most likely different bulb sizes or types, I dont have my manual in front of me right now but I would order the correct kits obviously, but I just wondered if this was possible because I personally am not a huge fan of the blue-ish headlights and yellow fogs look and figured since I have to get the fogs ordered and installed as well it could be easier to do the HID conversion before they go on the car.

Thanks guys, sorry for the long question.

You can do that for sure. The light doesn't scatter because of projector/non-projector designs, it scatters because of bulb length. Proper HID kits are designed so that the HID bulb extends the same distance into the headlight housing as the stock did. So if you get an H11 kit for the headlights, you'll have a decent cut off when installed. Same goes for the fogs.

Only thing to note is it will be extremely bright out in front of the car with all of them on, so be ready to have people flashing highbeams at you!

There are also VRD or APT on eBay.

I would buy from eBay, they are like 100 bucks on there, for either style.

this is tC2 not tC1, lol

OP- I would go for it man, 6K H11 is all you need, just buy two sets and install them all at the same time when you get your fog lights in!

Thanks guys for the quick responses.

I kinda figured that oem was all there was right now but it was worth a shot...

I realize it will be pretty bright, but that is kinda the point...i am figuring that the fogs might be aimed down just enough where it shouldnt be much of an issue for oncoming traffic, but if it is than I will deal with that later.

Just wanted to make sure the concept was possible, seemed really simple and I didnt see anything obvious that would make it not possible, but as i am sure we have all experienced, especially with cars, that does not always mean it will work...

...thanks again for the quick responses and I will hopefully have some pics and updates relatively soon.
