Default fog light question

i do not know if this is asked already, but i will ask it again.

those who bought fog light, when you guys installed it is there a gap between the lamp and grill?

it freaks people out putting them in. i believe its there to cool down, a space for air to keep it cool so doesnt burn. i could be wrong but what other reason would there be a gap?

Freedom Penguin is right. Notice how hot the lens gets. If there was no gap the heat will melt the lower part of the bezel.

Just intalled my wifes last night....
I didn't even notice the gap till I was looking for one.
Can't see it even when up next to it (standing). If it is secure, whats the concern?
