For those of you who installed your own fog light kit, was it difficult to install with the vehicle only on jack stands? I've looked through the installation instructions and it looks like it might be a bit tight. I'm wondering how high I'll need to get the car up to comfortably install them (my hydraulic jack currently only lifts to 14.5 inches).

Also, I couldn't find what the OEM wattage of the fog light bulbs are. My eBay fog light kit comes with 55 watt bulbs, and I'm not sure if this is what the stock wires are designed to handle.

Honestly, jacking them up is the "correct" way to install your fog lights, but its the same if you just pull your bumper off and install it. It'll be faster and you can be sure that your fog lights will be secured. I installed my fog lights on my tC and it took me about an hour to do all the wiring plus mount the HID ballasts. I did it without any jack stands.

 

Thanks for the suggestion misterlu. I'm having troubles finding the harness plug-in, and I looked everywhere around the battery, where the installation guide said to look. Where was yours located?

 

I just did mine today. The harness plug-in is right underneath the driver side headlight, in front of the battery. Look at the manual http://www.trdsparks.com/install/00016-79417inst.pdf page 4, picture 12. Good luck!
