Default Halos

I know this has been asked before and people released their own versions where you make it yourself. But what wiring do I use to make these? All the people selling the kits no longer do that. So I would like to do it myself. Anyone else have a DIY?

This picture confuses me...the halo almost looks fake...like it was just painted on top of the photo. Obviously I'm not saying that you're posting a hoax or anything, but I'd like more details / photos of your job. Looks very bright though!

Haha yeah gotta love instgram a little photo edits.
Here's them during the day. And one right now is brighter than the other thanks to my buddy who forgot to disconnect the battery. But they have a 5 year warranty and are sending me a new piece.

Not much to it. Order 90mm halos form Theretrofitsource.com or superbrightleds.com
wait for them to arrive, bake your headlights to 210 deg for 15 min in the oven. pry them open with a flat head screwdriver then glue the halos onto the outer projector shroud. let it dry for 2-3 hours then run the wires through the top on the headlight. use thin black wire so it can be easy to hide and bend.
final step is to put everything back together using this sealant.

Team318, are you running the halos from TRS that KILLER linked above you? How do you think they compare to CCFL? I'm running the Xtec CCFL kit right now. They look awesome in low light settings, but in the daylight it's pointless to turn them on...

LEDs are VERY noticeable during the day.. That's why I chose them. And at theretrofitsource the LEDs look similar to ccfl and the LEDs aren't widely spread apart like some of these.

Instead of oven, can you just use heat gun to take apart the light?

Yeah but I recommend oven just because it loosens the glue evenly as to where a heat gun could unevenly heat the headlight.

Use a wet cardboard to place the headlight on when sticking it in the oven. Soak the cardboard real good.
Post up pics when you finish.

Hey OP

I noticed that you said you used 80mm instead of the recommended 90mm. Any particular reason why? How do they fit?

I ask because I have been lookin around for a nice acrylic diffuser that I can place over the LED halo ring so the PCB and hot spots are less obvious. I can only find them in 60, 80, and 100mm size though :-\.

someone told me 80 and 90 would fit and they didn't gave the 90 in blue so I went with the 80. It fits but not perfect. Not noticeable once placed on though.
Also took some touch up paint to it.

There ya go... Mine kinda went in side the circle. And not the whole thing is glued to the headlight there is a gap on the sides. But not noticeable at all. I just know it's there because I installed them haha
