Default New aftermarket LED tail lights

A fellow member of my car club brought this to my attention so I would like to pass it on to the rest of the 2G tC community. Love it or hate it, these appear, at least to my knowledge, to be the first/only aftermarket tail lights for our cars as of right now.

I like the concept of the design, but it's not really my style. The diffused LEDs have a very BMW feel to it which I think looks cool, but should have been executed better. The light doesn't appear to flow evenly, leaving hot spots around the LEDs that create the effect. Nothing a little spirited modding couldn't fix. I imagine that more manufacturers will follow up with their own designs very soon.

Same basic layout just different housing colors and smoke levels. I want to see something more like the TYC tails for the 1G tC. Not a fan of the "wings" that these lenses would put on the back of the car, but I'm excited nonetheless to see aftermarket tails coming out finally.

If I didn't have other plans, I'd buy them. I like 'em. Smoked of course.

I just placed my order for the smoke lens with a discount.

BUT to ease your mind about it having 2 reverse lights... It does have 2!!

I just talked to Venicia (she's super nice and great customer service and she checks on this forum) at K2 Motors and she went and opened the box to check if there are 2 reverse lights (a hole in each housing). I jumped on this since it's LED, discount and I am a big fan on how it looks like the back lights of a 5 series BMW. Should arrive early next week and I'll post pics and vid. So glad it has 2 reverse lights!!!

Thanks man! I really like the look of these tails and being spec-d was assuring! And plus if worst comes to worst, they have a 30 day return policy.

I wonder how these would look on a RS7?

If we can get a good backwards shot of them on a car I will photoshop them on to the RS.

Ooo... I too am interested in seeing how this turns out and if both reverse lights actually work. I noticed the webpage says it only works on the 2011 model year tCs...

Since it says "10-11" tC, my guess is that they are referring to tCs produced in 10-11...which would really mean 2011 and 2012 tCs.

They're probably just talking about the 2011 models that only have 1 reverse light. The 2011 models have 1 less wire coming out of the taillight plug. So there would be excess wire with the 2012 models

There wouldn't be any excess plugs caused by the 2nd reverse light. The only plugs that this tail light set is going to come with will be the tail/brake light plug. You'll see that there are just simply holes for the blinker and reverse. The design appears to use the stock blinker and reverse sockets/bulbs... This would mean that you'd simply have an extra hole on the passenger side that you wouldn't fill with a reverse socket/bulb. No harm done.

Anyone know if these will blink red or orange when signalling?

It will not. Like I said in my previous post, these lights will use the stock blinkers/reverse.
