Cool zerosky. I was thinking any number of items could be placed there - such as a motor/servo rack to control a tire tack dispenser or rear-facing camera.

Gotta do what you gotta do to win them races afterall. Rear facing camera for backing up is another possibility. Or just get the rs8 exhaust

I just got my 2014 tC on Friday and Saturday night I took this light housing off, went to Autozone, got a 3157 pigtail then ground the back of the housing down and cut the hole to match and stuffed it in. Wired it to park/brake today and works great, just trying to find a shielding bulb or maybe a chrome dipped once so the filament isn't as noticeable. I think total cost for me was like $20?

There is a plug in trunk that you can run wires to and tap into the harness going to passenger tail light. I am trying to remember but I believe Purple=Park, Green=Brake, Brown=Ground.

Now if the insurance was reduced because you have an extra brake light - that would rock.

I believe you have to drill a hole to put a bulb in.

Yeah you do, they have a mark of where to cut but they should have made it a plug

How hard was this to install? And does the 3157 socket fit well? Do you have to wire in a ground and or fuse or can you just splice into the passenger tail light harness?

Why spend money when I can make it with things I have at home and work?

that little red piece of plastic on the bottom, is that suppose to be a rear fog light or another reflector to the ones on the sides?

i googled it but didn't come up with anything, might have just missed it though.
Its very possible to make that into a rear fog light. Just like on the FRS/BRZ, its not a reflector, but actually transparent so a light will shine through. I've seen a few people do this mod, it actually looks really OEM, which in this case is good because you wont look like a civic owner who bought some random light at pepboys. You can buy the kit here

Probably there to bring the styling of the Fr-s to the tC, but it can be modified.
