Default Block Heater Inquiry (2014 Scion TC)

I've been doing research on the block heater topic for a few days now and came up short on information regarding block heater installation. The only installation guide I found is for a 2011 TC. Would the 2014 be different? Would there be an installation video or at least pictures that would be available to help out?

Thanks a bunch

I can ask a technician tmw at work for clarification, but I would assume it is the same. Same engine.

I have supplied an install guide for you. It has all the instructions and will be able to answer any questions you have

Is the bolt in figure 8 behind the air box? I'm having trouble identifying it, and don't want to risk starting I can't finish without the help of a trained mechanic.

Thanks in advance,

Shane

Why do you need a block heater for a gas engine ?

It's very, very cold this time of year, where I live. And I don't like waiting a long time in the morning for heat.

Thanks in advance,

Shane
It is to the left of the air box, you'll see a black plastic looking box attached to your engine that the instructions are showing you in the pictures. the one in figure 8 is a bolt. If you have taken off the nut which is located on the top, looking at your car from the front. It would be down and towards the back from the nut taken off in figure 7. Look at figure 6 for a overall picture of it. Also it's really simple, if you cannot finish it put everything back together and get a handy friend or mechanic to install for ya.

Heats the engine coolant in cold weather so your car will consume less gas (less time needed to warm up) than a cold start or in extreme conditions it allows your car to start; period. -40 degree weather will require you to own a block heater if you wish to transport yourself in your vehicle. Not specific towards gas or diesel.
