no,a name brand intake, will give you some gains and benefit, your car,due to R&D....its tuned to your car

just a pipe and filter wont do anything, cause the proper build and research wasnt done,in other word, you get what you pay for...so if you get a cel, dont be surprised

It'll give you a nice sound, don't worry about that. It will even give you the feeling that you've gained power because of the sound. But you'll also notice that the sound only becomes loud when you punch the throttle so you'll lose mpg in order to hear the sound. I had one on my old car. It's really fun at first but then it just becomes part of the car.

To be completely honest with you, if you're going for the sound and nothing else, yeah its worth the money. My old car had a SRI and catback exhaust (check my profile). Both were worth the money for the sound. It really depends on if you're going with the whole show vs. go concept a lot of people on here go with. Show? Yes worth the money. Go? Not so much.
My last car I wasn't sure which one I wanted so in thinking I was going with both, I ended up with more show than go. With my new car, I'm going with more go but looks good doing it, if that makes sense. So to me at this point, a SRI would not be worth the money as I know a new intake will not really help with power even though the manufacturers say it will.
All in all though, its your money. If you want a good upgrade that IS worth the money, will increase power to the wheels, and costs about the same as you're spending on the intake, I suggest you check out nonstop tuning.com and look at their light weight crank pulleys.
Like I said though, its your car and your money. Hope I was able to help.

Thanks for the detailed reply, it helped a lot, I think it will be worth it...I wish I had more money for the "go", but money isnt something you have a lot of being a senior in hs haha.

Haha bro I completely understand that feeling. Just save your money and you'll be able to get the stuff that makes you go faster. I've been saving for a turbo kit for months now. Hopefully I'll be able to get it by June.
Just enjoy your car, and no matter what any one says about it, it's yours and you can do whatever you want to it. Haha there's a guy on here who took 1G Tc and made it into an off road vehicle.

Apparently I'm bored on a friday night. Just saying.
