Left car running 12 hours. Accident.
Is it harmful to car? 12500 miles on it. Oil changed at 10k. Was 18* out with heat on max. Don't ask how I forgot bc I don't know. But it wasn't stolen fortunately, didn't even know it was to be honest lights were off and couldn't even hear it on.
Went through roughly 4gallons of fuel, was on a quarter when I found out so didn't run low. I don't think it hurt anything.

To be safe I put techron concentrate and a fresh batch of fuel to remove any possible deposits from idling so long. Probably overly cautious but yeah. I know our police cars run 24-7 never even turning them off. So with that logic I'm assuming no harm came to my engine.

 

I would recommend you change your oil as well, but no, no unnecessary harm should have come from that. You buy a lotto ticket yet?!?

Two things, and neither are terrible: One, your exhaust tore up your bumper. Two, you built up a ish ton of carbon on your valves/chambers. You're good though. Just think about it, cops do it 24/7 all day everyday no matter what. They never ever ever turn off their cars no matter how long they leave it unattended even. You're fine bud. Good concern though, but don't worry.
