Which limited slip differential choices do we have for our car/engine combo right now, and are there any which might be arriving soon? Will any limited slip differential spec'd for the 2AR-FE engine (our engine) work with our engine?

Well at a minimum I think it means it's expensive. $1600 is a lot to pay for something that is basically built into our vehicle, since the traction control we have from the factory can direct torque to the non-spinning wheel. A true limited slip differential is better than traction control, however, but by enough to justify the price point? That of course comes down to the preferences, habits, and pocket book of every individual.

I'm still open to acquiring an LSD someday but it'll have to come down in price substantially. I posted this thread in the hopes that maybe there's a more affordable LSD out there.

 

Do you think, a part like this will drop in price? And do you need something like this for daily driving and sometimes racing a friends rsx and eg.

 

I'm SURE quaife will make an lsd for the new tc eventually that isn't a clutch type.

An lsd will help when racing from a dig, and helps with high hp fwd cars. (Also nice in snow and rain).

I will tell you that if you are looking for maximum performance value, a true locking, clutch type like the OS Giken product linked above will be your answer. I have drive torque biasing clutches like the Quaife and they are better than stock, hands down, but do not compare to a OS. OS is top notch in their construction and I doubt the cost will come down so long as the American dollar continues to deflate.
