looking for an exhaust quieter than stock
Have a 2011 scion tc and the stock exhaust is too loud for me. i find it obnoxious. so, while everyone is modifying theirs to be louder, i'd like mine to be near-silent. the problem with this is that i can't seem to find any info for this reason...
is anyone here able to help? I know this is a bit of a weird question
Thanks

ok. so i lied. it's actually my mom's car. she's 53 and it annoys her as to how noisy the exhaust is. still looking for a quieter one - does anyone have any info or know how we could make it better for her?

kfunluc is right..
There are no quieter exhausts that I know of that are sold as a bolt on. Take it to an exhaust shop and they'll need to modify the stock exhaust to make it quieter. She will probably lose some power on high end though, like on highway overtaking. I think your best bet it to sound proof the rear of the car. The hatch, and around and in where the spare tire is

they are, but have you ever tried to stick anything in the back of a camry? just had a lawnmower in the scion over the weekend - with the trunk closed. It's kinda sweet that way.
thanks for the answer manualsonly/fkunluc. I'll look into taking it to a muffler shop, and/or soundproofing/deadener

in that case, go get a wagon. I don't mean to badger, but you'll have to add mufflers and/or extra resonators which will 1) cost more than you want
2) interfere with the back pressure and volumetric flow of the exhaust, which can lead to a few things. (one being that if it's an automatic, which I assume it is in this case, it will effect how and when the ecu tells the transmission to shift causing inefficiencies)
