Default Is this normal for tC2 exhaust ?

I bought this car about 8 months ago... I still have warranty. I am uncertain if this is normal or it is begining to rust

Do you think I can take it back to the dealer and have it replaced?

That's normal, it's only a steal exhaust with no extra protective coating. If you want an exhaust that won't rust get a stainless steal cat back system. Here's my exhaust from when I replaced it with my cat back system...

They won't replace the exhaust for cosmetic reasons if it is still functional. Besides the stock exhaust will show surface rust within a few months even if they do replace it for you. I replaced mine with the tsudo S2 cat back exhaust. I choose this exhaust because the link for descendants cat back system wouldn't work. This is what it looks like:

Oh okay thank you.
- How much was your Tsudo s2 exhaust?
- How many miles did you go before switching the whole exhaust?

My exhaust was like $395 shipped, and my car had about 14k miles on it when I installed the new exhaust.

It doesn't really matter the mileage of the car, it's a matter of the climate the car is in. If you are In a humid environment, or a n area that receives lots of rain or snow your cars exhaust will rust a little on the surface. That's just how
any steal exhaust is. It doesn't hurt any thing, it's just a cosmetic thing. But who the hell is gonna see the under side of your car any ways? But yes this is normal, even for a car with 5k miles on it. ;)

just surface oxidation from exhaust gas heat, plus salt water from road conditions. normal.

Mine was looking like the pictures in a month or less. If you don't worry about it I'd say you won't run into a problem until your a 150,000-200,000 miles when a cat typically needs replaced on a Toyota. That's been my experience... twice. If you want to keep the exhaust stock, then I wouldn't worry about it, but if it really bothers you, then the only way to conquer it is to buy a stainless header back exhaust with stainless hardware. You will also need to crawl under your car and polish it periodically, especially if you live in an area where they salt the roads

Sand it down a bit with a wire brush and spray it with high temp black spray paint.
