Default A/T hideous launch noise ?

OK now that i have your attention no i did not try to launch my car ... what had happened is one day this @$$hole (in a Honda sohc of course) had cut me off inches away from my bumper , i mean i could smell his breath from how close he got to my car ... so as we came to a stop sign i put it into neutral sang the song of our ppl and dropped it back into drive and as i did my car jumped forward with this awful jerk as if the tranny was trying to rip itself apart ... now obviously this is bad for the trans but how bad ? (not that i intend on doing it again) has anyone else accidentally done this or does anyone now how bad it is for our cars ?

You'll be fine. Not good for the trans, but doing it once won't kill the trans.

i find that it works better to get the front of your car as directly next to the driver as possible and then honking your horn, followed by a disapproving stare..

Wont your traction control stop you from having any fun anyway, or did you turn it off?

So because somebody in a POS Honda Civic did something stupid, but ultimately didn't cause any damage mad you so angry you decided to take about 10k miles off the life of your transmission when you tried to intimidate him...

dude, just let it go. Honk your horn, give him a digital salute and just move on. Nobody ever crapped their pants because somebody revved up their engine at an intersection. You just looked like a fool and did some accelerated wear and tear on your own car.

I notice a lot of Honda drivers are always passing my toaster and speeding ... A great many accords were involved in teenage flipping and death accidents in Rhode Island a few years ago . . . you know you just can't fix stupid.

Try not to take your anger out on your own car however!

You would think the emc would prevent shifting into gear while reving the engine too high but I guess not.

neutral drop. it will kill a tranny. might last once, could last 100 times. is it worth it?

true lol ... it was stupid not planning on doing it again ... i thought so too but the ecu doesn't seem to be equipped with self destructive prevention protocols bc i was in reverse the other day and quickly put it in drive and my car stalled on me ?! didn't think automatics could do that ...
