TRD quickshifter questions.
I did a bit of searching but could not find any information. The stock throw is incredibly long and annoying for shifting into certain gears. Does the TRD kit actually change this much? I'm mainly talking about 1-2, 3-4, and 5-6 shifts. If not, I'll probably just look at the TWM kit.
it does what it says, 30% shorter. it feels good, you will not be disappointed. while i did not have the TRD (want to) i did have the supertek which is the same thing. I am stock now though (can't afford the TRD quickshifter, sold the supertek.)
The TWM is over $200 more than the TRD option. it is mostly a question of how much you can afford. they both reduce the shifter travel.

I've been driving cars with shortshifters for awhile and I just got this car. It feels like a long throw to me. But thanks for that tidbit.
I can't speak for the TRD/Supertek, but the TWM reduces the throw about the same (30%) and corrects the angle the shifter is pointing (1,3,5 used to be straight up and 2,4,6 were way backward ; now 1,3,5 are slightly forward and 2,4,6 are slightly back).
The TWM also comes with an aluminum reverse lockout mechanism so it's more rugged then the stock plastic one and looks flashier, but is prone to sticking on the shaft of the steel shifter when the temps drop below freezing. Coupled with the heavy TWM M1 shiftkn0b & cable bushings it makes for a nice crisp shift. Due to the inherent wonkyness of the tC tranny it's not a slick as a Civic Si, but far better then stock.
I've wanted to try what Kyleptrsn1 recommends and double up on both solutions, but it's not at the top of my priority list.

yes, i wanted to go back to stock, and also the thing wasn't painted. once i removed it i could see the beginnings of rust. which is why i'd want the TRD since i think it would last much longer. I'm ok being stock though.
I have the TRD on my 2011 xb and I love it. It's just perfect. I also have twm bushings and I love the feel of the shift. It's more precise. Some people get the automatic if they don't like shifting.
