Im deciding between the greddy sp axle back or the greddy evo3. I want power and i dont want that 'civic' sound. What you guys would do if u were me. ?

Neither of them will give you a civic sound or any power gains.

Lol true story ^^^^ exhaust don't add much if any hp if its your only mod ... They also don't sound like Hondas bc our cars aren't high reving torqueless blunders ... Go on YouTube & you'll find dozens of video's on practically every exhaust out for tc2's

Get whatever you think sounds and looks the best for your liking. It is your car. I personally dont like any exhausts that are on the market other than the trd. I have descendant and would tell you to check it out, but unfortunately they dont make tc parts anymore. Also dont mind all the goons on here.

They are right though. An axle back won't give you rasp, or any noticable power increase. Get the axle back you like, and an ebay cold air intake. You will have a great sound and spend a minimal amount of $$.

I just cut the rear muffler out of the axleback and put in a piece of exhaust pipe from pepboys in its place for like $30 and had a friend weld it in. it sounds good and it was cheap not to mention it looks stock so the cops dont notice its me making noise unless im right next to them XD.

i think it was 2.5" piping and the longest one they had i think it was 30" just measure the size of the muffler in the axleback and get the same size pipe. Or go to big als or any exhaust shop and have them cut it off and weld in a pipe in its place. i dont remember the length i used cus i did it months ago. If you want i can post a vid later tonight to youtube so you can hear what it sounds like.

actually i think i had to use a adapter on the passenger side cus the pipe is smaller on that side than it is on the drivers side.

just remember when you go cutting up your factory pipe, you may need to buy another one when it comes time to smog. Granted it wont be for 5 years from the time you bought your car, but then its every other year after and I dont think you will pass if you go cutting out parts (i.e. the second cat thats right before the end of the exhaust).

Thats why you see some of these poor guys trying to buy peoples stock exhaust pipes. I guess you could just have your friend weld back in your parts, but not everyone has that luxury.

From doing what i did you will pass smog just fine i only removed the muffler that is under the rear of the car that you can visibly see and replaced it with a piece of pipe.

from what I have heard, thats the second cat/resonator. The primary cat is in the header/downpipe. Our cars have two. I'm not sure how important the second one is

Our primary cat is on the header, the second is right before the big can on the midpipe and then there is the resonator/muffler under the rear of the car on the axleback. which is what i removed

I think spent $75 all together with an exhaust tip. Took me a couple of hours to get it to sit right, worth it in the end.

Good luck!

Not bad but I don't like the way that piece is bent, it causes turbulence in the exhaust flow. it sounds good close to mine but mine only cost $30 and I can always reweld up the stock muffler. But nice job overall Russinkid

Thanks!
Which piece? It has basically that same bends as stock, a 180, straight into a 90. Overall I am happy with it, and I can swap back and forth if need be.
