Default AEM FIC 6 troubles

Can anyone who is running an FIC 6 with the PTUNING SS Turbo kit please chime in?

I have been having problems and I am not sure if its the tune or if my FIC is problematic...

Occasionally, during WOT, the FIC will dump a massive amount of fuel.
Not under WOT condition, the tune runs perfectly...

I have been told a million different things as to why its doing this... some of the explanations are clearly wrong, like I need a new fuel pump, that my factory ECU is not working correctly, wrong size injectors, or wrong spark plugs...

One thing I came across that might have something to do with it, is the firmware on the FIC 6 might be corrupted/not work properly with the tC2. If anyone knows which version they are running on their tC2, can you post up so I know? I am on Version 3.0 currently.

Not that I have any input regarding your issue, but just thought I'd throw in a plug that I'm selling my Dezod AEM EMS standalone unit. ;-)

So, I take it you've had this exact tune and set up for a while now? And it just now started doing this? It's clearly overcompensating, which isn't a bad thing, because of how much air it's getting at wide open. So, something is telling this thing that there is "more air coming in" than really is coming in, hence more fuel for the air it's thinking its getting. I would think that's your MAP or MAF telling it that, so maybe start there by cleaning/replacing those. I mean, you want to run a bit richer at wide open, but what ratio are we talking here so we can get a better idea?

Let me elaborate as to a few reasons why this may be doing this....

1) A potential exhaust leak can cause inconsistencies in flow which a constant stream is what the tune was done off of. So if it leaks, letting gases escape that where accounted for in the tune, it will run richer.

2) Detonation will cause the factory ECU to retard timing and flood the mixture rich to buffer.

3) Deterioration of primary O2 sensor due to excessive wear and carbon build up.

4) Engine wear due to detonation. Blow by is effectively less compression which the tune was based off of full compression on a fresh motor. So with less engine output due to compression, the air fuel ratio will be richer..

any one seeing the message ( FIC firmware version 3 is not compatible and must be updated!) I downloaded the aem fic 6 software from aempower.com.
